I am as guilty of this as anyone: I complain and whinge that 'my bum looks big in this' but rarely do anything in order to improve the situation.
Now I've admitted this, I feel it's time to make a change. I have researched the net to find the top recommended bum exercises to help me on my way to getting a toned bum.
So as to potentially save some of you some time I have listed here what seems to be the general consensus regarding the best exercises to do in orer to get a toned bum:
Lunges
The best way is to hold dumbbells in your hands, held down at your sides. Take a big step forward with one leg, keeping the other leg in place. Bend your front knee until the knee of the back leg is almost touching the floor. Now do the same with the other leg. Tip:Keep your torso upright and make sure that the lead knee points in the same direction as the foot throughout the movement.
Squats
Stand with your feet about shoulder width apart. With dumbbells in your hands held down by your sides, begin by squatting as though you are about to sit in a chair. Keep going down until your thighs are parallel with the floor. Return to the start position and repeat.
Your knees should point in the same direction as your feet throughout movement.
Dumbbell step up
Step onto a raised platform with one foot and then bring up the other foot so that you end up standing on the platform with both feet. Then step backward off of the bench with the same foot you started with. Repeat with the opposite foot for the desired number of repetitions.

Hip abduction
Lay on your side with your top leg straight and bottom leg bent, lift your top leg up and away from the side of your body. Hold your leg there for the desired amount of time and then lower the leg slowly back down.Tip:
Keep your hips square and upper body still throughout the movement.
